Established in November 2020, Dom Panino (‘DP’) is Sydney’s first Paninoteca [Italian sandwich shop] specialising in old school Italian classic panini, unique specials, homestyle pastas, salads and boutique coffee.
Dom Panino began as a popular food truck in Breakfast Point, however it soon outgrew this concept, and it was time for a bricks-and-mortar location. In February 2023, Dom Panino opened its first store front in Marion Street, Leichhardt - a suburb that is sentimental to Domenico, as his family emigrated to Leichhardt from Sicily.

From then to now
At the back of Dom Panino, in a dining area called the Family Room, are photos showing Domenico’s family, working on fishing trawlers, gathering for marriages and celebrating family events. Several of these photos are taken in the same room when it was a different restaurant in the ‘90s.
However, the most special part for Domenico, is that he is now bringing up his own family in the exact space where he created his own childhood memories.
